Biotinyl tyramide is used in immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH) protocols. Tyramide Signal Amplification (TSA) is an immunohistochemistry technique designed to detect and quantify molecules such as proteins and nucleic acids. Biotinyl tyramide acts as an amplification reagent in these assays by catalyzing the deposition of a biotin polymer. Tyramide mimics tyrosine, forms a covalent bond with a tyrosine residues. This results in an increased signal intensity, allowing for enhanced detection and protein visualization. The biotinylated molecules can then be further detected using streptavidin-conjugated enzymes or fluorescent probes.
