Betamethasone 21-phosphate sodium salt is a corticosteroid that functions as an anti-inflammatory agent in experimental applications. It exerts its mechanism of action by binding to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors, leading to the upregulation of anti-inflammatory genes and the downregulation of pro-inflammatory genes. This results in the suppression of the immune response and the reduction of inflammation at the molecular level.
