SEE ALSO...

βB2-crystallin Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects βB2-crystallin of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-βB2-crystallin antibody (B-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. βB2-crystallin plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity and transparency of the eye lens, which is essential for proper vision. Located primarily in the lens fibers, βB2-crystallin contributes to the refractive properties of the lens by forming a highly organized structure that minimizes light scattering. This organization is vital for the lens′s ability to focus light accurately onto the retina, thereby ensuring clear vision. βB2-crystallin′s ability to form dimers and higher-order aggregates is critical for its function, as these interactions help stabilize the lens′s refractive index and prevent cataract formation. Additionally, βB2-crystallin is part of a larger family of crystallins, which includes several other beta and gamma crystallins, all of which work together to maintain lens transparency and refractive properties.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376006 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
