β-Nornicotyrine is a compound useful in organic synthesis. β-Nornicotyrine acts as a competitive antagonist of the serotonin 5-HT2A receptor. This receptor is a G-protein coupled receptor that is involved in a variety of physiological processes, including the regulation of mood, cognition, and behavior. β-Nornicotyrine binds to the 5-HT2A receptor and blocks the binding of serotonin to the receptor, thus inhibiting its activity.
