QUICK LINKS

Benzamil•HCl is a potent sodium channel blocker. Benzamil•HCl has been shown to be capable of blocking Ca2+ transients in cardiomyocytes. It has been observed to produce a strong depressive effect on peak developed tension and tension generation and dissipation rates upon addition to the coronary perfusate of the right ventricular wall. Benzamil•HCl is reported to decrease ACE, renin, and ANG II type 1 receptor mRNAs in DOCA-salt hypertensive rats upon intracerebroventricular infusion.
