Bedaquiline (Mixture of Diastereomers), an antimycobacterial substance. It inhibits ATP synthesis, leading to bacteriostasis shortly after administration. In response to Bedaquiline (Mixture of Diastereomers) exposure, the bacteria undergo a metabolic shift, activating the dormancy regulon and ATP-generating pathways, which allows them to maintain viability. However, when mycobacteria are cultivated using non-fermentable energy sources like lipids, which impede ATP synthesis via glycolysis, bedaquiline-induced bacterial killing is significantly enhanced.
