BCAS2 Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects BCAS2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BCAS2 (F-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BCAS2 protein, also known as breast carcinoma amplified sequence 2 or DAM1 (DNA amplified in mammary carcinoma 1 protein), is a nuclear protein that plays a crucial role in the spliceosome, a complex responsible for removing introns from precursor mRNA. This function is vital for proper processing of mRNA, which ultimately influences gene expression and cellular function. BCAS2 interacts with several key proteins, including thyroid hormone receptor beta (TRβ), estrogen receptor alpha (ERα), estrogen receptor beta (ERβ), progesterone receptor (PR), and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ), acting as a coactivator for estrogen receptors and enhancing transcriptional activity. BCAS2 overexpression in various breast cancer cell lines suggests involvement in breast cancer development, making BCAS2 a significant target for research in cancer biology and therapeutic interventions.
