    SEE ALSO...

BBS6 Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects BBS6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BBS6 (F-8) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. BBS6 plays a crucial role in the assembly and function of cilia, which are essential for various cellular processes, including signaling pathways and cellular motility. Dysfunction in cilia can lead to a range of disorders, collectively known as ciliopathies, which include Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS). BBS is a complex genetic disorder characterized by symptoms such as obesity, photoreceptor degeneration, polydactyly, hypogenitalism, renal abnormalities, and developmental delays. Patients with BBS are also at an increased risk for developing diabetes, hypertension, and congenital heart defects. BBS6, classified as a Group II chaperonin-like protein, is primarily localized to the pericentriolar material (PCM), a critical region surrounding centrioles that is vital for cilia formation and function. During interphase, BBS6 is found on the lateral surfaces of the PCM, but redistributes throughout the PCM during mitosis, highlighting its dynamic role in cellular processes. BBS6′s ability to interact with other proteins involved in ciliary function underscores its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and the potential implications of its dysfunction in disease.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390077 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
