    SEE ALSO...

BAP29 Antibody (W352) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects BAP29 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-BAP29 antibody (W352) is available as the non-conjugated format. BAP29, also known as BCR-associated protein 29 or BCAP29, is a multi-pass membrane protein that localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and is a member of the BCAP29/BCAP31 family of proteins. BAP29 is crucial for maintaining the retention of membrane immunoglobulin D (IgD) molecules within the ER, which is essential for proper B cell development and function. BAP29 is predominantly expressed in the brain and testis, highlighting potential roles in neurobiology and reproductive health. Structurally, BAP29 features a hydrophobic N-terminus, three transmembrane domains, a coiled-coil region, and a C-terminal double-lysine motif implicated in vesicular transport. BAP29 can exist as a homodimer or form heterodimers with BAP31, and the BAP29/BAP31 complex is vital for the trafficking of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules, facilitating transport from the ER to the Golgi apparatus. This complex is essential for the immune response, ensuring proper presentation of antigens to T cells, thereby playing a significant role in adaptive immunity.

Can sc-101213: BAP29 (W352) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101213: BAP29 (W352) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
