BAF53 Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects BAF53 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BAF53, a crucial component of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, plays a significant role in regulating gene expression by facilitating ATP-dependent alterations in chromatin structure. BAF53 is primarily located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, which is vital for shuttling between these compartments and participating in various cellular processes. BAF53′s interaction with other proteins, such as TIP49 and TIP48, is essential for mediating c-Myc oncogenic activity, highlighting BAF53′s importance in cellular growth and proliferation. Additionally, BAF53 contains a conserved N-terminal motif with specific residues at serine 2 and tyrosine 6 that are critical for activity, underscoring the intricate regulatory mechanisms that govern BAF53′s function in chromatin remodeling and gene expression.
