Azobenzene-4-sulfonyl Chloride is used as a catalyst in organic synthesis, as a reagent in the production of polymers, and in the synthesis of dyes. It is also employed in the synthesis of a variety of compounds, including heterocyclic compounds, aromatic compounds, and azo dyes. Azobenzene-4-sulfonyl Chloride is an electrophilic reagent that reacts with nucleophiles such as amines and alcohols to form aryl sulfonamides and aryl sulfonates, respectively. The reaction is catalyzed by a base, such as an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal. The reaction proceeds via a nucleophilic substitution mechanism, in which the Azobenzene-4-sulfonyl Chloride molecule acts as the electrophile and the nucleophile is the amine or alcohol.
