Avibactam Sodium Salt (AVB) is an innovative inhibitor designed to address the growing resistance of bacteria to β-lactam antibiotics, which are a class of antibiotics that target the bacterial cell wall to inhibit their growth. Bacteria produce an enzyme called β-lactamase that can neutralize the effects of β-lactam antibiotics, rendering them useless. Avibactam Sodium Salt, a non-β-lactam β-lactamase inhibitor, offers a new approach by enhancing the effectiveness of β-lactam antibiotics. By binding to the active site of the β-lactamase enzyme, avibactam sodium prevents the breakdown of β-lactam antibiotics, enabling them to maintain their potency and efficacy against bacterial infections.
