    atrophin-2 Antibody (REREF1H8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects atrophin-2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). anti-atrophin-2 antibody (REREF1H8) is available as a non-conjugated format. Atrophin-2, also known as Arginine-glutamic acid dipeptide repeats protein or Atrophin-1-like protein, is a 1,566 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene RERE. This protein belongs to the atrophin family, characterized by arginine-glutamic acid (RE) dipeptide repeats, and features a complex structure including one BAH domain, one ELM2 domain, one GATA-type zinc finger, and one SANT domain. The structural composition of atrophin-2 enables functioning as a transcriptional repressor during development, which regulates gene expression and ensures proper cellular differentiation. Atrophin-2 plays a significant role in cell survival; overexpression can lead to Bax recruitment to the nucleus, particularly to the promyelocytic leukemia (PML) nuclear body, triggering caspase-3 activation and resulting in cell death. Atrophin-2 interacts with proteins such as HDAC1 and atrophin-1, with atrophin-1 interaction being enhanced when poly-Gln region of atrophin-1 is extended, highlighting the importance of these interactions in cellular processes.
