QUICK LINKS

Atorvastatin Lactone is a metabolite of Atorvastin acid (sc-337542), which is an inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase. By affecting Atorvastatin acid action, Atorvastatin Lactone prevents inhibition of P-glycoprotein mediated Rhodamine 123 (sc-208306) transport in cells. Studies suggest that Atorvastatin is also a potent scavenger for free radicals and prevents toxic effects of Gentamycin (sc-357362) by inhibiting NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways.
