ASRGL1 Antibody (LA-52) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ASRGL1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-ASRGL1 antibody (LA-52) is available as a non-conjugated format. ASRGL1, also known as Asparaginase-like protein 1 or CRASH, is a 308 amino acid protein that belongs to the Ntn-hydrolase family, characterized by a unique four-layered, catalytically-active αββα-core structure, which indicates evolutionary relationship to penicillin V acylase. ASRGL1 plays a crucial role in hydrolyzing asparagine into aspartic acid and ammonia, a process vital for various metabolic pathways. ASRGL1 has been identified as an autoantigenic protein localized in sperm mid-piece, particularly after obstruction of the male reproductive tract, highlighting potential implications in fertility and reproductive health. ASRGL1 localizes to mitochondria and is predominantly expressed in testis, with additional expression in brain, kidney, and gastrointestinal tissues. Elevated levels of ASRGL1 have been detected in ovarian, uterine, and mammary tumors compared to normal tissues, indicating potential roles in cancer biology and as a biomarker for tumorigenesis.
