QUICK LINKS

Aspoxicillin, a peptide, is a potent broad-spectrum antibiotic derived from penicillin. It exhibits remarkable antibacterial activity by binding to and deactivating penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) situated on the inner membrane of bacterial cell walls. The inhibition of PBPs disrupts the cross-linkage of peptidoglycan chains, essential for maintaining the strength and rigidity of the cell wall. Consequently, bacterial cell wall synthesis is impeded, leading to gradual weakening and eventual lysis of the bacterial cells.
