QUICK LINKS

C7BzO aslo know as ASB-C7BzO, is a zwitterionic detergent which contains hydroxypropyl group between alkylphenyl hydrophobic tail and ammonio-propane sulfone hydrophilic head. Useful for solubilizing and stabilizing integral membrane proteins by disrupting aggregates. C7BzO is reported to be compatible with urea (~7 M) and has been used successfully to extract A. thaliana leaf plasma membrane proteins and band III, a 100 kDa erythrocyte polytransmembrane protein, by two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DGE).
