    SEE ALSO...

Artn Antibody (BQ-74X) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects the Artn protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Artn antibody (BQ-74X) is available as a non-conjugated format. Artemin (Artn) plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of the nervous system, particularly in supporting the survival of both peripheral and central neurons. Artn (BQ-74X) antibody recognizes a member of the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family, which includes other neurotrophic factors such as neurturin and persephin. Unlike GDNF and neurturin, which primarily support dopaminergic neurons, Artn has a broader range of action, promoting the survival of various neuronal types. The interaction of Artn with the GFRα-3-Ret receptor complex enhances neuronal survival and function, making Artn essential for neuroprotection. Artn can also interact with the GFRα-1-Ret receptor complex, which is the preferred receptor for GDNF, highlighting Artn′s versatility in signaling pathways. This multifaceted role in neuronal health underscores Artn′s importance in neurobiology and potential therapeutic applications in neurodegenerative diseases.
