ARS2 Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ARS2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ARS2 (B-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ARS2, also known as arsenate (or arsenite-) resistance protein 2, is an 876 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression and RNA metabolism, particularly in pre-mRNA splicing. Nuclear localization of ARS2 is vital for processing RNA molecules, which are essential for proper cellular function and development. ARS2 is evolutionarily conserved, showing at least 98% sequence identity among mammals, and is essential for early mammalian development; mouse embryos lacking ARS2 experience excessive apoptosis and typically die around implantation. ARS2 interacts with RNPS1, a key protein in activating pre-mRNA splicing, highlighting ARS2′s importance in the splicing machinery. ARS2 is located on chromosome 7, within a region frequently deleted in myeloid leukemia, suggesting a potential role in disease pathogenesis. Due to alternative splicing events, ARS2 exists in four isoforms - isoform A, isoform B, isoform 3, and isoform 4 - which may have distinct functional roles in cellular processes.
