AQC is used in analysis of amino acids or protein sequence by HPLC with fluorescence detection. It is a useful chemical for pre-column derivatization of primary and secondary amines, amino acids, peptides, proteins, and polyamines. AQC forms stable and highly fluorescent derivatives. It has been used successfully in chromatographic separation and analysis of derivatized amino acids and polyamines. Polyamines derivatized by AQC display excitation/emission maxima of 248/398 nm, respectively.
