Apogossypolone, known as ApoG2, is an effective BH3 mimetic that inhibits Bcl-2 and Mcl-1, two proteins from the Bcl-2 family. It demonstrates remarkable potency, with Ki values of 35, 25, and 660 nM for Bcl-2, Mcl-1, and Bcl-XL, respectively. Apogossypolone exhibits antitumor properties by inducing apoptosis and autophagy in cells. Additionally, it possesses antifungal activity.
