    SEE ALSO...

ApoER2 Antibody (1A1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ApoER2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ApoER2 antibody (1A1) is available as a non-conjugated isotype antibody. ApoER2, also known as apolipoprotein E receptor 2 or LRP8, is a crucial member of the low-density lipoprotein receptor gene family, which includes other important receptors such as LDL receptor, LRP, megalin, and VLDLR. This family is characterized by a unique structure that includes a cluster of cysteine-rich class A repeats, epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like repeats, YWTD repeats, and an O-linked sugar domain, which are essential for their function in cellular signaling and lipid metabolism. ApoER2 is predominantly expressed in the brain and placenta, where ApoER2 plays a vital role in mediating the interaction between extracellular Reelin and the cytosolic protein mDab1 (mammalian disabled protein). This interaction is critical for activating a tyrosine kinase signaling pathway that regulates neuronal migration along radial glial fibers during brain development, highlighting ApoER2′s importance in neurodevelopmental processes. Several splice variants of ApoER2 further underscore ApoER2′s functional diversity and potential implications in various physiological and pathological conditions.

How to convert the concentration unit of this antibody from 100 μg/ml to μmol/L?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question. IgG antibodies have a molecular weight of 150,000 g/mol, so the provided 100 µg in 1 ml are the equivalent of 0,66 nmol/ml or 0,66 µmol/l.

Do you know, or would you predict, that this Ab would recognize mouse ApoER2? Thanks.

    Asked by: DJRL
Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested this antibody for reactivity with mouse samples and so that is not a recommended species at this time. However, the immunogen sequence used to generate the antibody does share significant sequence identity with the ApoER2 sequence in mouse (91%). Therefore, there is a good chance that this antibody may also detect ApoER2 in mouse.

For Western Blot, is it recommended to use denatured or non-denatured conditions with ApoER2 (1A1): sc-293472 antibody?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. We recommend this antibody for use in denatured Western Blot conditions. It has not been validated for use in non-denatured conditions. Please contact our Technical Service Department for further details or inquiries.
