Datasheets
  • APOBEC1 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ APOBEC1 antibody, cited in 1 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 2-16 at the N-terminus of APOBEC1 of mouse origin
  • recommended for detection of APOBEC1 of mouse and rat origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgG3 BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for APOBEC1 Antibody (E-2) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with APOBEC1 Antibody (E-2) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

APOBEC1 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects APOBEC1 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-APOBEC1 antibody (E-2) is available as non-conjugated format. APOBEC1 plays a crucial role in post-transcriptional editing of apolipoprotein B (apoB) mRNA, a process essential for maintaining proper balance of edited and unedited RNA molecules in hepatic cells. This editing is vital for producing functional apoB proteins, which are key components in lipid metabolism and transport. APOBEC1 is predominantly expressed in adult small intestine, but also found in stomach, colon, and testis, highlighting importance in various tissues. Structurally, APOBEC1 exists as a dimer and features conserved histidine and cysteine residues that form a zinc-binding motif, a characteristic shared with other cytidine deaminases. This structural similarity suggests APOBEC1 may have additional roles in RNA metabolism beyond functioning as an apoB RNA-specific cytidine deaminase. APOBEC1′s ability to interact with other proteins involved in RNA processing further underscores significance in cellular function and regulation.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-166508 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
