    SEE ALSO...

apoA-II Antibody (ZZ6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects human apoA-II by immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-apoA-II antibody (ZZ6) is available as a non-conjugated format. Apolipoprotein A-II plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and is the second most abundant protein component of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles, where apoA-II significantly influences plasma levels of free fatty acids (FFA). apoA-II is vital for maintaining lipid homeostasis, as apoA-II helps regulate the metabolism of triglycerides and cholesterol, thereby contributing to cardiovascular health. Additionally, apoA-II is involved in the activation of lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT), an enzyme essential for the formation of cholesteryl esters in plasma, which are important for the transport and storage of cholesterol. apoA-II′s ability to modulate lipid levels underscores apoA-II′s importance in preventing atherosclerosis and other lipid-related disorders, making apoA-II a valuable target for research and therapeutic interventions.

Can sc-101261: apoA-II (ZZ6) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101261: apoA-II (ZZ6) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
