SEE ALSO...

Apaf-1 Antibody (5E11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Apaf-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Apaf-1 antibody (5E11) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental use. Apaf-1, or apoptotic protease activating factor 1, plays a crucial role in the intrinsic pathway of apoptosis, acting as a key regulator in the activation of caspase-9, which subsequently leads to the execution of programmed cell death. This process is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and eliminating damaged or unwanted cells, thereby preventing the development of various diseases, including cancer. Apaf-1 is primarily located in the cytosol, where oligomerization occurs in response to apoptotic signals, forming a complex that recruits and activates caspase-9. Proper functioning of Apaf-1 is essential for the apoptotic cascade, and dysregulation of this pathway can lead to pathological conditions. Apaf-1 monoclonal antibody (5E11) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying apoptosis and its implications in health and disease, providing insights into the molecular mechanisms that govern cell death and survival.

I want to use Apaf-1 (5E11): sc-65891for Western (inmuno) Blotting. In the technical sheet it is stated that the starting dilution is 1:200. Does this mean that to work on a 1:1000 dilution I only need to dilute it 5 times? (1:200 --> X5 =1:1000). Thanks

Asked by: Apaf lover
Thank you for your question.Apaf-1 Antibody (5E11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 provided at 50 µg in 0.5 ml. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:200 for Western blot. The expected range, to determined by each end-user, is 1:100-1:1,000.
