QUICK LINKS

Antibiotic Antimycotic: This combination of Penicillin, Streptomycin and Amphotericin B is effective against the most common forms of cell culture contamination - bacteria (gram-positive and gram-negative), yeast, and fungi - when used at a concentration of 10 mL/L. The sterile solution is a combination of all three antibiotics in a sodium chloride solution. Penicillin inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis, streptomycin (sc-202821) inhibits protein synthesis in prokaryotes, and amphotericin B (sc-202462) interferes with fungal membrane permeability. Antimicrobial spectrum: Fungi and yeasts, gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.
