ANKRA Antibody (A26) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ANKRA protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ANKRA antibody (A26) is available as the non-conjugated format. ANKRA protein, also known as ANKRA2 or RFX-B-like 2, is a 313 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in various cellular processes due to its unique structure, which includes an N-terminal helix-loop-helix domain and three ankyrin repeats. These structural features enable ANKRA protein to interact with other proteins, such as MaxiKα, megalin, and the histone deacetylases HDAC4 and HDAC5, which are involved in regulating gene expression. ANKRA protein is typically distributed throughout the cell but translocates to the nucleus in the presence of HDACs, where ANKRA protein functions as a corepressor, binding to the C-terminal sequence of AHRR and playing a significant role in transcriptional repression. ANKRA protein′s localization can be influenced by CaMK signaling, highlighting ANKRA protein′s dynamic nature and importance in cellular signaling pathways.
