Angiomotin Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Angiomotin in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Angiomotin is a crucial 1,084 amino acid protein belonging to the motin family of angiostatin binding proteins, characterized by conserved coiled-coil domains and PDZ binding motifs at their C-termini. Angiomotin is predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle and placenta, where anti-Angiomotin antibody (G-12) localizes to the cell surface at tight junctions, playing a significant role in maintaining these junctions. Angiomotin′s ability to bind to angiostatin is vital for its function in angiogenesis, as Angiomotin promotes tubule formation and enhances the migration of endothelial cells in response to growth factors. This underscores Angiomotin′s importance in tumor angiogenesis, positioning Angiomotin as a potential therapeutic target in cancer treatment. Notably, Angiomotin exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing: p130 and p80. The p130 isoform not only exhibits a distinct expression pattern compared to p80 but also interacts with F-actin, facilitating actin fiber formation, which is essential for various cellular processes. Angiomotin monoclonal antibody (G-12) is therefore an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the roles of Angiomotin in cellular dynamics and cancer biology.
