QUICK LINKS

Angeli′s salt is a nitroxyl anion (NO-) donor with cytotoxic effects. It spontaneously dissociates to release nitric oxide (NO) in a pH-dependent, first-order reaction, however, it has been found to instantaneously decompose at pH = 5. It is used to prepare nitroaromatics, nitroalkenes, and nitroalkanes.
