AMT hydrochloride is a potent, selective, and reversible inhibitor of NOS2 (IC50 = 3.6 nM approximately 30 and 40 times selective over NOS1 and NOS3, respectively). AMT hydrochloride, a tryptamine derivative and monoamine alkaloid, exhibits solubility in water and slight solubility in ethanol.
