Amprolium HCl is a coccidiostat, an antiprotozoal agent that acts upon Coccidia parasites. It inhibits the sporulation of the oocysts of several common strains of coccidia. Amprolium is a thiamine analog that interferes with thaimine metabolism and prevents carbohydrate synthesis.
