SEE ALSO...

AMPKβ1 Antibody (Z14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects AMPKβ1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-AMPKβ1 antibody (Z14) is available as the non-conjugated format. The AMPK (5′-AMP-activated protein kinase) complex plays a crucial role in cellular energy homeostasis, consisting of a catalytic α subunit and regulatory β and γ subunits. AMPKβ1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is essential for sensing cellular energy levels, which is vital for maintaining metabolic balance. When cellular energy is low, AMPKβ1 is activated by an increase in AMP and a decrease in ATP, leading to the phosphorylation of key metabolic enzymes that inhibit energy-consuming processes and stimulate energy-producing pathways. This regulatory mechanism is particularly important in conditions of metabolic stress, such as during exercise or nutrient deprivation, as AMPKβ1 helps to restore energy balance and promote cell survival. The human AMPKβ1 gene encodes a 271 amino acid protein, which interacts with the α and γ subunits to form the functional AMPK complex, thereby influencing various metabolic pathways and cellular responses.

I am using AMPKβ1 (Z14): sc-100357 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
