Amoxicillin trihydrate′s mode of action relies on its capacity to hinder the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It accomplishes this by impeding the activity of transpeptidase, an enzyme accountable for connecting the peptidoglycan layers within the bacterial cell wall. By preventing this enzyme, the drug weakens the cell wall, eventually resulting in cell lysis.
