Amodiaquine Antibody (6D10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Amodiaquine protein of non-species reactive by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Amodiaquine antibody (6D10) is available as a non-conjugated format. Amodiaquine, a 4-aminoquinoline compound, shares structural and functional similarities with chloroquine, and plays a crucial role in malaria treatment due to schizonticidal activity. Amodiaquine accumulates in malaria parasite lysosomes, leading to a loss of function detrimental to survival. The mechanism involves inhibiting heme polymerase activity, resulting in free heme accumulation, which is toxic to parasites. Amodiaquine has been used for over 40 years as both an antimalarial agent and for anti-inflammatory properties. Caution is warranted, as overdose can lead to severe side effects, including headache, drowsiness, visual disturbances, and potentially life-threatening conditions such as cardiovascular collapse and respiratory arrest.
