QUICK LINKS

Amikacin disulfate, also known as BB-K 8, is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that is active against gram-negative bacteria. The activity of Amikacin is similar to that of Kanamycin (sc-29069) and Gentamicin (sc-29066). Amikacin has been used in different types of renal studies. We supply the Amikacin disulfate form. Amikacin Sulfate is a potent antibiotic derived from kanamycin with broad-spectrum activity. It belongs to the class of aminoglycosides and acts by binding irreversibly to the 30S ribosomal subunit in bacteria. Specifically, it interacts with the 16S rRNA and S12 protein within the subunit, disrupting translational initiation and causing mRNA misreading.
