AMBP Antibody (532) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects AMBP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-AMBP antibody (532) is available as the non-conjugated format. The AMBP (α-1-Microglobulin/bikunin precursor) gene encodes a protein precursor that is cleaved to produce two distinct proteins: α-1-Microglobulin and Bikunin. The α-1-Microglobulin component, also known as protein HC, is a member of the lipocalin superfamily and is primarily secreted in plasma, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid. α-1-Microglobulin plays a crucial role in the body′s immune response, exhibiting immunosuppressive properties by modulating cytokine secretion and inhibiting antigen-induced lymphocyte proliferation, which is vital for maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing excessive inflammatory responses. Additionally, α-1-Microglobulin possesses reductase and dehydrogenase activities, contributing to the reduction of biological pro-oxidants, thereby protecting tissues from oxidative damage. Bikunin, also known as inter-α-trypsin inhibitor light chain, is a Kunitz-type protease inhibitor that is widely expressed and stored in the granules of human connective tissue mast cells. Bikunin plays a significant role in preventing autodigestion by exocrine enzymes and is implicated in the anti-inflammatory immune response, particularly in the context of renal diseases such as urolithiasis.

I am using AMBP (532): sc-81948 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
