AK3/4 Antibody (SJB3-36) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects AK3/4 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-AK3/4 antibody (SJB3-36) is available as the non-conjugated form. AK3/4, part of the adenylate kinase family, plays a crucial role in cellular energy homeostasis by catalyzing the conversion of adenine nucleotides, specifically facilitating the transfer of phosphate groups between AMP, ADP, and ATP. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining the balance of energy within cells, influencing various metabolic pathways, gene expression, and signaling cascades that are essential for normal cellular function. Notably, AK3 is localized in the mitochondria of liver and heart tissues, where AK3 utilizes GTP as a substrate, distinguishing AK3 from other isoforms like AK1 and AK2 that primarily use ATP.
