AG-1288 is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It has been shown in human amnion cells (IC50 =21 mM) to block glucocorticoid-induced cytotoxicity, TNFα-induced cytotoxicity, and glucocorticoid-induced COX-2 activity. It has also been reported to protect mice against lipopolysaccharide-induced lethal toxicity. This effect correlates with its ability to block LPS-induced production of nitric oxide in macrophages, and tumor necrosis factor α. AG-1288 is an inhibitor of Guanylate Cyclases.
