Aflatoxicol is a naturally occurring metabolite derived from aflatoxin, a toxic compound produced by certain molds (Aspergillus species). It is a hydrolyzed and reduced form of aflatoxin B1. Aflatoxicol has lower toxicity compared to aflatoxin B1, but it can still pose health risks. It is considered a precursor in the metabolic pathway of aflatoxin B1.
