QUICK LINKS

AEBSF hydrochloride is a broad spectrum, water soluble, irreversible serine protease inhibitor. AEBSF hydrochloride may act to inhibit the constitutive production of A beta in five different human cell lines, both neural and non-neural. AEBSF hydrochloride also inhibits activation of TGFβ (transforming growth factor beta), moderately inhibits CD26 (Dipeptidyl peptidase IV: DPP IV) and activates JNK and p38 MAP kinases. AEBSF hydrochloride is a b-secretase inhibitor that may act to inhibit beta amyloid peptide production and enhance APP (amyloid precursor protein) secretion in several cell lines at millimolar concentrations. AEBSF hydrochloride maintains stability at slightly acidic aqueous solutions and serves as a nontoxic alternative to PMSF (sc-3597) and DFP. AEBSF hydrochloride is also known as 4-(2-Aminoethyl)benzenesulfonyl fluoride hydrochloride.

Is it possible to store AEBSF in solution over a longer time period?

Asked by: AnjaT
Thank you for your question. AEBSF hydrochloride (CAS 30827-99-7) is best stored in solid form at +4 °C. We do not recommend storing this compound in solution, as this can negatively impact the stability and viability of AEBSF. Please get in touch with our technical service if you have further questions.
