QUICK LINKS

Adipic acid dihydrazide is a homobifunctional cross-linking reagent that is specific for aldehydes resulting in relatively stable hydrazone linkages. This is used in the linking of glycoproteins, such as antibodies, in a site specific fashion following periodate oxidation. Adipic acid dihydrazide acts as a reducing agent in organic synthesis. It reduces aldehydes and ketones to alcohols, and it reduces nitro compounds to amines. It also acts as a catalyst in the production of polyurethane foams, and it is used as a cross-linking agent in polymers.
