Adaphostin is a Bcr/Abl tyrosine kinase inhibitor (IC50 = 14 μM). Adaphostin induces apoptosis in T-lymphoblastic human leukemia cell lines (IC50 values range from 16.8 to 216.3 nM) in vitro. Adaphostin has been shown to display selectivity for chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) myeloid progenitors in vitro.
