    SEE ALSO...

ADAMTS-15 Antibody (5F3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ADAMTS-15 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ADAMTS-15 antibody (5F3) is available as a non-conjugated format. ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain with Thrombospondin type-1 modules) family consists of zinc-dependent proteases that play crucial roles in various physiological and pathological processes, including tissue remodeling and disease progression such as arthritis and cancer. ADAMTS-15 is characterized by a unique structure, which includes an amino-terminal propeptide domain, a metalloproteinase domain, a disintegrin-like domain, and a carboxy-terminal region containing multiple Thrombospondin type-1 motifs. This structural arrangement enables enzymatic activity and interactions with other proteins, allowing ADAMTS-15 to cleave aggrecan, a key component of cartilage, thereby influencing extracellular matrix dynamics. ADAMTS-15 expression is primarily observed in fetal tissues, including lung, kidney, and liver, where ADAMTS-15 functions as a weak aggrecanase, particularly in fetal kidney and liver. Research has shown that low ADAMTS-15 expression in human breast carcinoma, combined with elevated ADAMTS-8 levels, correlates with increased risk of cancer recurrence and mortality, highlighting ADAMTS-15′s potential as a biomarker in cancer prognosis.
