ADAM22 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects ADAM22 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ADAM22 (C-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ADAM22, a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease) family, plays a crucial role in mediating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, which are essential for processes such as neuronal development and synaptic function. ADAM22 is highly expressed in the brain, where ADAM22 interacts with other proteins, including the neurotrophin receptor TrkB, influencing neurotrophic signaling pathways that are vital for neuronal survival and differentiation. The structural integrity of ADAM22, which includes a disintegrin domain and a metalloprotease domain, is critical for function, as ADAM22 allows for the cleavage of various substrates, thereby modulating signaling pathways that affect cellular communication and plasticity. The genes encoding human ADAM22 and closely related counterpart ADAM23 are located on chromosomes 7q21 and 2q33, respectively, highlighting their evolutionary significance and potential implications in neurological disorders.
