ACYP1 Antibody (2-RE16) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ACYP1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ACYP1 (2-RE16) antibody is available as a non-conjugated format. Acylphosphatase, encoded by ACYP1, plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by catalyzing the hydrolysis of carboxyl-phosphate bonds in acylphosphates, which is essential for regulating various biochemical pathways. ACYP1′s importance extends beyond enzymatic function; ACYP1 is primarily located in the cytosol, where ACYP1 participates in acylphosphate dephosphorylation, thereby influencing lipid metabolism and energy production. ACYP1′s presence in the cytosol allows for rapid response to changes in cellular energy demands, making ACYP1 vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis. Additionally, two isoenzymes, ACYP1 and ACYP2, share 60% homology, highlighting this enzyme family′s evolutionary significance. While both isoenzymes exhibit similar substrate specificity, ACYP1 shows higher catalytic activity compared to ACYP2, which has been extensively studied as a model for protein misfolding and aggregation. Understanding ACYP1′s functional dynamics remains essential for elucidating ACYP1′s role in metabolic disorders and potential therapeutic targets.
