    SEE ALSO...

ACP2 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ACP2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ACP2 Antibody (B-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ACP2, or acid phosphatase 2, is a 423 amino acid enzyme belonging to the histidine acid phosphatase family, primarily localized in the lysosomal compartment of cells. The enzyme plays a crucial role in the hydrolysis of orthophosphoric monoesters into alcohols and phosphates, which is essential for various metabolic processes, including the degradation of cellular components and the recycling of phosphate groups. The optimal enzymatic activity of ACP2 occurs at an acidic pH, characteristic of the lysosomal environment, highlighting its importance in cellular homeostasis and nutrient recycling. Deficiencies in the gene encoding ACP2 can lead to acid phosphatase deficiency, a severe condition that manifests with symptoms such as terminal bleeding, opisthotonos, hypotonia, lethargy, intermittent vomiting, and can result in death during early infancy.

Can ACP2 (B-7): sc-390667 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, ACP2 (B-7): sc-390667 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
