QUICK LINKS

Acetyl-β-methylcholine chloride is a metabolically stable analog of acetylcholine, a muscarinic receptor (mAChR) agonist. Its ability to constrict airway smooth muscle is used to assess bronchial reactivity. Acetyl-β-methylcholine chloride works by binding to muscarinic receptors on the surface of cells. This binding causes the cells to become activated, which can lead to a variety of effects, such as bronchoconstriction or increased heart rate.
