Acephate is a colorless, crystalline solid that is highly soluble in water and other polar solvents. Acephate is an anticholinesterase insecticide that produces cholinotoxicity. Displays weak inhibition of rat AChE (acetylcholinesterase) but potently inhibits cockroach AChE. It is also used in laboratory studies to control pests in experimental setups, helping to maintain the integrity of studies that involve plants and insects.
