Ac-DEVD-pNA is a colorimetric substrate for caspase-3 (CPP32) (Km=9.7muM) and related cysteine proteases. It is also a substrate for caspase-6, caspase-7, caspase-8, and caspase-10. The sequence is based on PARP (poly(ADPribose) polymerase) cleavage site Asp216 for caspase-3. Cleavage is monitored colorimetrically at 405nm.
