Abz-FR-K(Dnp)-P is extensively utilized as an angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) substrate and an internally quenched fluorogenic substrate in real-time fluorescent assays. It is employed in scientific research for assessing protease activity. This peptide functions as a quenched fluorescent substrate, meaning that its fluorescence remains suppressed until it is cleaved by a protease. Once the peptide bond between Abz and FR is cleaved, the fluorescence is restored, enabling the measurement of protease activity.
